FF Options Research

A Windows research application for option data analysis across markets.

Tools for working with open interest, OI changes, option levels, historical data and market scenarios.

What the application lets you research

The list below describes the sections of the current version and what each of them actually computes.

Data status

The application works on an accepted, immutable release of the report archive. Build, source freshness, completeness, semantic acceptance and independent audit are shown as separate facts instead of one word. The same screen shows the archive period, layer volumes and warnings.

Daily Matrix

Matrices of OI change, standing open interest and premium by strike and contract, with CALL and PUT kept apart. The level coordinate is the futures price, the strike minus basis, or the strike adjusted by the premium. Levels stay exact or collapse into a step from 0.0001 to 0.005. Moneyness, contract set, days to expiry and minimum-value filters, comparison with the previous trading day, heat shading and PNG and CSV export are all available.

Analysis

Either the positive OI-change layer or the standing open-interest layer, with ITM, OTM and ALL blocks carrying CALL and PUT volume and exact volume-weighted levels. A historical slice rebuilds the picture for a chosen UTC date and time in 5, 30 or 60-minute steps. A live-spot mode reclassifies moneyness from the current spot quote for the latest report.

Explorer and big placements

Open interest and its change aggregated by phase, side, contract family, days to expiry and weekday, with exact traded-flow lots: opened by buying, written, short closed and long closed. Big Placements selects inflows and outflows by volume thresholds, expiry window, contract family, side, moneyness and initiative.

Level and placement charts

Volume-weighted OI and OI-change levels are drawn over the canonical EUR/USD chart as candles or a close line at 5, 15 and 30 minutes, one hour and four hours. Up to twelve level recipes stay active at once, each with its own layer, report version, coordinate, contract set and family, moneyness and side; recipe lists are saved under a name. The placement chart puts the same big placements on price in the entry, spot-strike or daily coordinate.

Historical idea check

It compares CALL and PUT imbalance against subsequent price movement or range. Bucket boundaries come from a training span only and the check runs on a separate period; holiday carries and missing anchor prices are excluded. The output is correlations, baselines, charts and a plain-language verdict at 0, 1, 2 and 5 trading-day horizons — not a forecast.

Live

One day of option flow: spot candles, option levels, construction legs, block trades, zones and combined flow panels. The period is one, three or five days and the timeframe 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes; the chosen filters persist between sessions.

Facts, exports and appearance

Row-level contract and strike facts: basis, premium, coordinates and explicitly empty values instead of substitutions. CSV and PNG exports repeat the selected filters. The interface switches between Russian and English; themes, fonts, row height, monospaced tables and the export folder are configurable. A separate SQL Lab with read-only queries appears in researcher mode.

The first version covers EUR/USD only. S&P 500, gold and oil are planned, with no dates yet.

A research instrument, not a forecast

FF Options Research does not replace a trading decision and does not promise the direction of price.

It structures option data: it shows what changed, compares historical periods and lets you study market behaviour under different conditions. Where the data is incomplete, it leaves the field empty and says so instead of filling in a plausible number.

What the application looks like

The screenshots come from the current version on the accepted report day of 18 September 2026. The interface is shown in Russian; English is available in the settings.

How FF Options Research works

Walkthroughs and section demonstrations will be published here, on the «Опционный поток» YouTube channel and in the project's Telegram channel.

Closed testing

FF Options Research is currently distributed within a closed circle and is in testing.

Participation is requested through the application's Telegram bot.

  • Seven report days of full access: fresh data, one year of history and the whole Live section. The count starts at the first sign-in, not when access is issued.
  • After that, access continues free of charge: every section stays in place and data arrives one trading day later.
  • The application runs on Windows and is installed on one computer.

Understand the data first

If you are new to option data, start with the free FF course. It explains CALL and PUT, open interest, strikes, ITM/OTM, basis and option levels.

Start with the public web matrix

The basics of EUR/USD option flow can be examined straight in the browser, with no application to install.

Questions about the application

What is FF Options Research?

A Windows research application for analysing option data and market behaviour.

Is it a trading robot?

No. It does not open trades and does not replace a trading decision.

Is the application sold publicly?

No. It is currently distributed only within a closed circle, in testing.

Where can I see it working?

Screenshots of the working sections are on this page, and demonstrations and project material will be published here as well.

How do I join the testing?

Through the FF Options Research Telegram bot.

How does it differ from the Android app?

The Android app is the mobile Option Spot Flow Matrix: EUR/USD option flow by spot-price level. FF Options Research is a broader Windows research instrument: the report archive, history, levels, big placements and the live day.
